Southern Wildlife and Island Escape On this 13 day holiday discover the sophistication of Sydney, the majesty of the ancient and weathered Flinders Ranges, the wildlife and pristine beaches of Kangaroo Island and the indulgence of a luxurious tropical hideaway in one exceptional custom designed journey. From Sydney, fly to Adelaide where you will then charter fly up to Angorichina Station in the heart of the Flinders Ranges. For guests, one of the real pleasures of staying at Angorichina is the chance to become absorbed into the life of a working outback sheep station, that has been in the same family for six generations. Leaving the outback you will head south to Australia’s Galapagos - Kangaroo Island. Southern Ocean Lodge aims to provide an iconic accommodation experience on Kangaroo Island and is designed to be a sanctuary of comfort, style and personal intimacy, redefining the Australian standard. Day 1 – Day 3 Park Hyatt Sydney,
for 2 nights
The boutique five star hotel is uniquely positioned on the very edge of Sydney Harbour and in the shadow of the Sydney Harbour Bridge takes in unobstructed views of the Sydney Opera House. Included in you stay is an ultimate Sydney sailing private tour. This unique day is the ultimate way to experience the beauty of Sydney. Your experienced guide greets you at your hotel for a walk around the historic Rocks precinct, visiting the first church in Australia & the convict built cottages. You then take a walk around the Observatory, continuing around Circular Quay, the Opera House & into the magnificent Botanical Gardens. Joining the vehicle under the famous Harbour Bridge, you will continue onto Watsons Bay on South Head to enjoy a meal of Doyles famous fish & chips in the park with a bottle of chilled Australian wine and a cheese platter. You return to the city, visiting Darling Harbour where your yacht awaits for a cruise around Sydney Harbour with a delicious afternoon tea. After an incredible 2 hours on the worlds most beautiful harbour, your vessel returns to Darling Harbour. Here you may decide to eat out at any one of the dozen or more restaurants, stay & enjoy the entertainment, or take the monorail into the city, returning to your hotel at your leisure.
Day 3 – Day 6 Angorichina Station,
Flinders Ranges, for 3 nights
Take a rugged 4 wheel drive tour along the Oratunga Track - a 50km long dirt track which is a thrilling excursion for 4WD enthusiasts, nature lovers, photographers, history buffs and anyone with an interest in geology. Perhaps you may choose instead to take a scenic flight, (additional cost), with Ian, an experienced pilot, to show you the Flinders Ranges from above. Viewed from the air, the Flinders Ranges appear as gigantic bowls formed by bent and distorted rows of hills and mountains resembling the back of a prehistoric crocodile. Either by foot or by air a journey through the Flinders Ranges is a 60-million year journey through the Earth's history. Day 6 – Day 9 Southern Ocean Lodge, Kangaroo Island for 3 nights • Private Charter flight from Blinman to Parafield Airport Adelaide • Private transfer from Parafield Airport to Adelaide Airport • Scheduled flight Adelaide to Kingscote, Kangaroo Island • Met on arrival at Kingscote Airport and transferred to the Lodge • 3 nights stay in an Ocean Retreat Room with all meals and selected beverages • 1 full day private tour
If this is all too strenuous you can opt for indulgent pampering in the Southern Spa, located in a pavilion on the top of a hill with commanding views over the wild coastal landscape. Relaxing and healing treatments inspired by indigenous methods use a combination of Li'tya products and local botanical ingredients. During your stay, experience a full day of private touring with Exceptional Kangaroo Island. Day 9 – Day 13 Lizard Island, Tropical
North Queensland, for 4 nights
Lizard Island was voted as the top hotel in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific and one of the top 100 hotels and resorts in the world at the 2008 Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards. In the 2009 Gold List Awards, Lizard Island was voted second in the category 'Best Australian Resort'. Osprey's Restaurant is an indicator of the importance of cuisine to the Lizard experience. The menu, which changes daily, is fresh and creative, showcasing the finest local produce and freshest seafood. Watching the sunset on a day-bed overlooking the water, its easy to be lulled into the deep peace that comes with being in your own beautiful world on Lizard Island. Complimentary snorkel lessons are conducted every second afternoon followed by a guided snorkel offering a complimentary reef interpretive tour on the reef directly in front of the Beach Club in Anchor Bay. There is an abundance of reef snorkelling in Anchor Bay, in front of the Resort, as well as at Sunset Beach and Watson's Bay where large concentrations of giant clams can be viewed, both within short walking distance from the Resort. A variety of diverse dive locations are available for all levels
of diving experience. This northern section of the Great Barrier
Reef is renowned for its water clarity and amazing variety of
coral species and marine life which attracts visitors from all
around the world. Or you can keep your feet dry in catamarans
