Capella Lodge is Lord Howe Island's most exclusive residence. With stunning ocean and mountain views, it makes for the perfect base to explore the island and all it has to offer from.

The Lodge is owned by Hayley and James Baillie who operate Baillie Lodges, a portfolio of unique, contemporary, sustainable nature-based accommodation experiences.

This exceptionally beautiful island is World Heritage Listed for its rare collection of plants, birds and marine life. Born from a volcanic eruption some seven million years ago, the island is 11 kilometres long and barely two kilometres at its widest point. The crystal waters boast the southern most coral reef in the world harbouring spectacular marine life.

Accommodation

Hosting no more than 20 guests the spacious suites compliment the natural environment providing luxurious refuge. Interiors feature timber floors, bleached shutters and custom furniture pieces, creating a sophisticated beach-house ambience.

The lodge consists of four different styles of accommodation including Capella Suite, Capella Family, Lagoon Loft and the stunning Lidgbird Suite.

Activities

There are endless activity options, exploring rich green forests, relaxing on tranquil white beaches, exploring the unique wonders of the reef or enjoying the indulgenc eand rejuvenation of signature massage under the soothing Kentia palms.

Bicycles are the main form of transport on the island and they are available for hire along with electric golf-buggys.

Other activities include fishing tours with a local operator, surfing, hiking, exploring the island in search of wildlife such as rare birds, plants, geology. The marine life is spectacular, take a snorkel in the pristine waters of Lord Howe Island, equipment is included in your stay at Capella Lodge.
